We’ve all heard of the Tasmanian Devil, but Tasmania isn’t known for breeding a hotbed of talent when it comes to actors. Even though the Australian province hasn’t churned out Hollywood stars en masse, it appears the town of Launceston has a hometown hottie to export. Rachael Taylor was working on an Australian TV series when she jumped ship and headed for L.A. Somehow, with a lot of luck and the blessing of Michael Bay, Taylor landed a sizeable role in Transformers as Maggie Madsen, a signal decryption expert hell bent on cracking the Transformers’ code. With two more movies under her belt since last summer’s gargantuan blockbuster, it’s safe to say that Rachael Taylor is one of the hottest new actresses on the Hollywood scene. Judging by the 15 minutes that we had with her, she’s also one of the coolest.
Who does that? Who rides in a helicopter and lands on the lawn of the Pentagon?

411’s Tony Farinella sits down with Rachael Taylor to talk about Transformers on DVD!
Rachael Taylor is every bit as lovely and gracious and talented and intelligent in Transformers as she is on the phone. Needless to say, she’s got a bright future ahead of her. And she’s also come a long way since she made the move from Australia to the United States. I’d say she made the right decision, because Transformers made a ton of money!
TONY: First of all, thanks for doing this interview.
Rachael Taylor: It’s an absolute pleasure. I’m always happy to talk about Transformers.
TONY: Great. Have you had a chance to step back and fully grasp how big this movie is?
Rachael Taylor: You sort of have your moments of being kind of blown away by just how excited people are about it. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to sit down and talk with some really hardcore Transformers fans. And it’s really thrilling as an actor to see that people can get so excited about a particular concept. I just consider it a real privilege to be a part of something so massive.

Definitely not Rachael Taylor! For she is definitely nearing the big leagues now. She has, not just one, but two BIG movies coming out late this year or early next year. One is the Thai horror movie remake Shutter, and the other is the sexually-charged action thriller The Tourist. In the latter, the traffic-stopping Aussie import stars opposite two of Hollywood’s most sought after leading men - Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor. Sounds great huh??
Anyway, the movie’s plot revolves around Jonathan (McGregor) who is an accountant who has lost his passion in life. When his powerful new friend Wyatt (Jackman) introduces him to a fiery sex club called The List, Jonathan soon thinks he has found the love of his life. Sadly for him, he is named the prime suspect in the disappearance of his lover, and the theft of 20 million dollars! We’re still unsure what is Rachael’s part here. Could she be the lost lover? Or one of the sex club’s luscious girls? Or maybe Rachael’s gonna be a tough detective on Jonathan’s trail! The movie sounds really exciting and we can’t wait for new reports to be released about it! And you can be sure you’d be the first to read all about it here, so keep coming back y’hear?? =)
Rachael Taylor maybe a Hollywood star already, especially after her breakout role in the summer blockbuster movie Transformers, but she remains the down-to-earth Tassie girl her parents loved. The blonde actress is now based in Los Angeles but she remains attached to her parents back in Launceston, Tasmania. According to Rachael, her parents are proud of her but not really caught up with the excitement of their daughter working in Hollywood. She relates (in Aussie twang, of course), “I’m sure they would love to come and visit me at some stage, but at the moment it just sort of seems like daughter’s off doing this kind of mystical thing out in the universe somewhere and it sort of involves movie-making.” LOL! Rachael sounds so hilarious in making fun of her laidback parents! But we can totally feel the love she has for her parents. She further shares that “My parents are crazy dog people, so that’s just as interesting (to them) as working with Michael Bay.” LOL! She’s so darn witty, atta girl! We hope she’d have more interviews for her amusing cleverness to shine through..
