Rachael Taylor joins Washingtonienne

RACHAEL Taylor transformed herself into a blockbuster big screen babe - next she’s set to channel Monica Lewinsky as a sassy White House intern in a new pilot TV series from Sex And The City’s Sarah Jessica Parker.

The Aussie actress has scored one of three leading roles in Washingtonienne, which follows the professional and personal lives of the smart, sophisticated 20-somethings on Capitol Hill.

Taylor will play the central figure of Jackie, a New Yorker who has decided to pursue a career as a speech writer but first must work her way up from the intern desk.

Like SATC, the series is based on the semi-autobiographical story by American author Jessica Cutler, about the sexploits of young staffers and the powerbrokers of the US Government.

Parker’s production company, Pretty Matches, is behind the series bound for HBO.

Rachael Taylor is Proud having not Part of transformers 2

Transformers 2 have been filming nowadays along with Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox but unfortunately Rachael Taylor is not part of the sequel anymore.

She said, it’s “not quite what I want to do” and it would defeat the purpose of becoming a better actor “if I was just going to become a ‘Transformers’ girl.”

She said, she needs to do roles that aren’t quite as easy for her as “Transformers” was (in which she retained her native accent). ” ‘Transformers’ was important and defining for me because it taught me about what kinds of movies I want to make and the kind of actor I want to be, and I have a long way to go before I become that actor,”

“It’s in independent film where I’m closer to becoming that actor,” she said. “So I’m going to stick to that world for a while. I have to earn my stripes. I don’t believe in winning the sprint. I would prefer to win the marathon. So I dodged a bullet there. Or a robot.”

Hopefully more movies for RachaelTaylor though as she did a very good performance in the first Transformers movie.

Variety the spice of life for Rachael Taylor

SHE WAS the girly geek on the trail of the machines in Transformers, now she’s the newly wed in Shutter getting scared out of her wits by a Japanese ghost who is always ready for her close up.

In between, she squeezed in a small indie movie that had her mixing with those creative types at the Sundance Film Festival.

And she’s about to start work on a small Australian film that looks at the life of Lebanese men living in Sydney.

Rachael Taylor, the girl from Launceston, clearly likes to mix things up.

“I think after you do something like Transformers, it’s remiss to continue to do commercial things,” she says.

“Or after you do something like Shutter, it’s remiss for me to go and make a bunch of horror movies. A thriller that won’t make you Shutter

“The only thing I’m really shooting for and I will fight tooth and nail for to have in my career is longevity.
