SHUTTER is based on the 2004 film of the same name, which became the highest grossing film in Thailand. The horror-thriller was directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom. Its story is simplicity itself: a girl suddenly appears, gets hit by a car and disappears, only to return to haunt the perpetrators. But with its many twists and shocks, the film subverted audience expectations, revealing itself to be much more than a simple ghost story.
Shutter tells the story of a newly married couple discovers disturbing, ghostly images in photographs they develop after a tragic accident. Fearing the manifestations may be connected, they investigate and learn that some mysteries are better left unsolved.
The film was shot on location in Tokyo, Japan by director Masayuki Ochiai and stars Rachel Taylor and Joshua Jackson.
Shutter opens in New Zealand on March 20.

Rachel Taylor was present last week at WonderCon 2008 in San Francisco. The Movie Reporter was also there and had a short video interview with Rachael. When asked if you would return for the second movie, her response was an unsure “I doubt it”. I think they should give more roles for Rachael or more scenes in the movie. What do you think?
